Indie platformer Shovel Knight is getting its own Amiibo toy.

Shovel Knight represents the first third party character to get a place on the toy line, and will be available from November 27. Players who purchase the Amiibo will be able to unlock co-op mode in the Wii U version of the game, or challenge stages in the 3DS version, as well as the ability to customise gear across both platforms.

Nintendo confirmed the news last night with an official reveal trailer:
