Donkey Kong and Super Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto has tried his hand at many video game genres over the years, but one that he's admittedly not too keen on tackling is MMORPGs.
Speaking during 2018 Computer Entertainment Developers Conference in Yokohama earlier today (via Kotaku), Shigsy said that he would tire of the business model of having to continually pump out content for the same game, which is something developers do to keep MMORPGs evolving over time.
'A few years ago, when MMORPGs were coming into fashion, I didn’t want to make one,' said Miyamoto-san. 'Since I get tired of things easily, I don’t want to keep making one game.'
He was also asked about how ideas come about in regards to game development.
'Everyone is always thinking of ideas, but it’s whether or not those are good ideas,' he commented.
Miyamoto's most recent project was Super Mario Odyssey in October last year, where he served as executive producer. He was appointed Ninty's 'Creative Fellow' in 2015 after serving as acting president alongside Genyo Takeda following the death of Satoru Iwata.
