Sega Europe has announced on Twitter that a patch for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Shenmue I & II will roll out later this week.

No details were given regarding what the patch actually does, although the Shenmue collection does suffer from a few notable issues on consoles, such as crashing, glitches in cutscenes, audio flubs, as well as bugs where certain events fail to trigger.

Shenmue I & II was released on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on August 21, and went straight into the UK All Format Chart at number two. Not too shabby for a cult series that has basically been dead for 17 years.

The original Shenmue was released on Dreamcast in 1999, with the sequel turning up two years later. Back in 2015, creator Yu Suzuki confirmed that Shenmue III was in development via Kickstarter, with Sony also contributing to the project.

Developer Ys Net recently confirmed that Shenmue III will launch on PS4 and PC in August 2019.
