Gamasutra reports that famed video game designer Yu Suzuki (Outrun, Space Harrier, Shenmue) remains a SEGA employee, contrary to earlier reports.
Earlier this week SEGA of America president Simon Jeffery told Gamasutra:
“He’s kind of his own man right now. Every now and again, he’ll come up with an idea, and I don’t think anything has come out of that yet, but we’re still working with him. He’s not an employee anymore…”
Jeffery later released a corrective statement to Gamasutra: “I can safely say that Yu Suzuki is in fact still a Sega employee.”
It’s unknown what project Suzuki is currently working on.
