Ys Net has announced in an email sent to its backers that Shenmue III will be published by Deep Silver. This publishing deal covers the global release of the game exclusively on PS4 and PC. Shenmue III is currently scheduled for release in the second half of 2018. A couple of new images for the game have been revealed, probably for fans who’ll take anything they can get at the moment.

Naturally everyone who’s involved with the publishing deal are chuffed and the Shenmue III director, Yu Suzuki has said that, ‘Deep Silver has expressed a deep passion for Japanese games, the Shenmue franchise and its fans—this gives me further confidence in Shenmue III and that we have found the best partner possible’.

Koch Media and Deep Silver CEO, Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, has also commented on the announcement saying that, ‘Shenmue is one of a few game franchises that have historical value whilst continuing to ignite passion across gamers. We are delighted to have signed this publishing partnership and look forward to utilizing our global publishing network to maximize the potential of this highly anticipated game’.

Shenmue III will appear at Gamescom 2017, in some capacity. Ys Net has said it’ll be there with some more news that it’ll share in the business area of the event which will eventually be shared with the game’s backers.

Yu Suzuki will also take the time to see fans of the game and will be there as part of a special meet and greet, which takes place on August 23 from 6:30pm-7:30pm CET and August 24 from 12:30pm-1:30pm CET.
