Shadow of the Tomb Raider will receive three special edition releases in addition to the standard version of the action-adventure game this September, Square Enix has announced.

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Lara's next mass slaughter outing will feature the soundtrack, an additional outfit and weapon, a PS4 dynamic theme/Xbox One avatar/Steam wallpaper, and the chance to play the game 48 hours before general release. The Croft version meanwhile adds all of the above plus the Season Pass and yet more costumes and weapons.

Finally, the Ultimate Edition is the Moby Dick of Shadow of the Tomb Raider's physical release. As well as the game and all contents featured in the Croft Edition, players will bag a Lara Croft statue, a bottle opener shaped like Lara's head-splitting axe, and a flashlight.

Prices for all of the special editions of Shadow of the Tomb Raider have yet to be confirmed by Square Enix, although we'll keep you posted.

As for the Season Pass, it's been revealed that players will have access to additional Challenge Tombs (seven in total), along with yet more weapons and outfits for Lara Croft. What's more, these tombs will function as 'narrative side missions,' so it sounds like they'll offer more than just puzzles.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is due out on September 14 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Read our impressions of the game here.
