Square Enix has lifted the wraps off the debut trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the final chapter in Lara Croft's rebooted trinket-pinching adventure series.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is set to be a defining moment in Lara's globetrotting antics, marking the point where she becomes, well, the Tomb Raider. Eidos Montreal is handling primary development duties this time around, although Crystal Dynamics, who worked on both Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider, is still chipping in.

Sadly the trailer doesn't show any actual gameplay footage, although we're still able to get a good idea of where Shadow of the Tomb Raider is going, as Lara ponders what she'll become while stealthily bumping off bad guys in the jungles of South America.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is due out on September 14 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Alice was lucky enough to go hands-on with the game this week, so be sure to read her thoughts on Lara's latest adventure here
