Eidos Montreal has pumped out the official launch trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and things aren't looking too rosy for trinket-pinching protagonist Lara Croft as she has to go about stopping an apocalyptic event. Just another day in the life of a budding archaeologist, then.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the defining chapter in Croft's origins story, which kicked off with 2013's Tomb Raider and continued with Rise of the Tomb Raider two years later.

Lara's got a few new tricks up her sleeves this time around though, including the ability to better camouflage herself against enemies and scale heights more efficiently, so much so that she'd probably put Spider-Man out of a job.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be making a running-jump into stores on September 14 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

Josh reckons it's a solid adventurer, but not quite the send-off he was was hoping for. Time for another reboot, maybe?
