Trinket-pinching adventurer Shadow of the Tomb Raider has received a free trial today, publisher Square Enix has announced.

The teaser will allow players to test drive the Mexico-set opening segment of Lara Croft's latest outing, which sees the British archaeologist and companion Jonah on the hunt for Trinity during the midst of the Day of the Dead celebrations.

If you decide to fork out for the full version of the game, then all your progress from the trial will carry over, which is pretty cool.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One back in September, and Josh thought it was a pretty decent conclusion to Lara's origins trilogy, although didn't quite top Rise of the Tomb Raider.

At this point it's unknown where Tomb Raider will go next, but presumably it'll be rested for a while.
