Update, July 11: 2K Sports has issued a correction on some info from its press release from yesterday. The Switch version of WWE 2K18 isn’t yet confirmed coming out alongside the other platforms this October 17. Currently the Switch release is scheduled for ‘Fall 2017’.

Original story, July 10: In what comes as a complete surprise (sarcasm meter overload), WWE 2K18 has been announced for the Nintendo Switch, and by none other than WWE star Seth Rollins. The Nintendo Switch version features docked play on television and offers the first portable edition of a WWE game in six years, this news will surely excite some of you wrestling fans who’re also super into Nintendo

WWE 2K18 on the Nintendo Switch was originally leaked on an Austrian retail site last month, but today’s reveal  confirms what was being rumoured all along. Rollins further confirms, extremely naturally, that he’s a ‘lifelong Nintendo fan and an avid gamer.’

According to a new press release from publishers 2K Sports, WWE 2K18 will have ‘the largest roster in WWE gaming history’. Along with the other platform versions available of WWE 2K18, the Nintendo Switch version of the game will include several new features, including a new MyCAREER experience, updated customisation suite and that all important portability factor. Of course.

The Switch version will be releasing alongside the PS4 and Xbox One versions on October 17.
