Medieval 2: Total War developer SEGA Studios Australia – formerly known as The Creative Assembly Australia – will be closed later this year, SEGA has confirmed to Kotaku.

In addition to making Medieval 2, the Australian studio created 2009 misfire Stormrise and more recently the official London 2012 Olympic Games video game, which performed pretty decently in the UK chart.

The Creative Assembly Australia was founded in July 2002, and in December 2010 was re-branded to become SEGA Studios Australia.
