Speaking to VentureBeat, Sean Ratcliffe, vice president of marketing at SEGA of America, has revealed that the signs are good for the publisher’s two recent adult-only Wii releases, House of the Dead: Overkill and MadWorld.

“House of the Dead has done very well and has absolutely met our expectations. The first set of data for Mad World is very encouraging, as well,” said Ratcliffe.

Asked about the possibility of there being MadWorld sequels, Ratcliffe said it was all about the success of the first game.

“If it resonates with the audience, yes, we absolutely want to make that into a franchise,” he said. “I think it’s unique, and there are many aspects of that game which are sort of pushing boundaries. And it’s just great fun.”

Late last month MadWorld entered the UK video game chart at No.34, while the most recent chart has the game placed at No.6 in the Wii only chart.
