SEGA has today confirmed reports that its upcoming release of Virtua Fighter 5 for Xbox 360 will feature online play, enabling two players to battle over Xbox LIVE.

It’s also been revealed that the Xbox 360 game is based on the latest arcade version update and features vibration support. The game also sports improved Quest and DOJO modes.

Quest mode will feature more CPU rivals, items and emblems for character customisation. DOJO mode’s new features include leaderboards, training move settings, improved throw and escape training, and the option to change your opponent’s position and recovery type.

Each of the game’s 17 characters can be fully customised by playing through the Quest mode. Four base costumes are available for each character and a wide range of unlockable items can be added for the personal touch.

Virtua Fighter 5 is scheduled for release on Xbox 360 in the autumn.
