Microsoft has released a new video explaining the concept of Cloud computing is, and how it’s used to power services such as Hotmail, Bing, Exchange, Office 365, and – more importantly – Xbox LIVE.
The video takes a tour around several data centres, where complex networks of computer servers are stored in huge warehouses, collectively storing vast amounts of information. These data centres are purposefully built in areas where electricity is cheap – like in Quincy, Wash., where Microsoft has built two of these centres.
