Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, a free “curated” version of the hit Xbox One title Forza Motorsport 6, will launch for Windows 10 PCs this spring, Microsoft has announced.

Available free, Apex is designed as a “demonstration of what the ForzaTech engine can do when unleashed by DirectX 12 at resolutions up to 4K”.

The game is the first step by Microsoft and developer Turn 10 to creating future Forza experiences for Windows 10 PC gamers.

Apex features a 12-event career mode, a new objective and scoring system, and a new “Spotlight Series” which will feature new Showcase-style events that will be updated on a regular basis.

Included are 63 fully functioning Forzavista-enabled cars, with working cockpits and full damage, able to be raced around 20 track configurations across six locations – Brands Hatch, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Rio de Janeiro, Sebring International Raceway, Top Gear and Yas Marina. Night and wet-weather variants are also available.
