Upcoming Funcom MMO The Secret World is getting its launch date pushed from April to June 19.

Creative director Ragnar Tornquist explains that by moving the release of the game forward two months it allows for the studio to add further “polish” while proving “just how much faith Funcom as a company has in The Secret World, and how committed [they] are to making it the best it can be.”

He adds that the company plans to unleash further beta test opportunities over the next few months.

“The additional time will also allow us to carry out even more quality beta testing, and soon we will also be announcing several public beta events where hundreds of thousands of gamers will get to test the game prior to launch.”

Initial beta registration took place last August, however it has remained in closed beta since that point.
