Rare has launched the latest free update for pirate booty-'em-up Sea of Thieves, with Shrouded Spoils casting a thick fog over the proceedings. I mean that literally too, as there's now actual fog obscuring your view on the high seas.

In addition to these new weather conditions, Shrouded Spoils also brings six Skeleton Forts ripe for raiding, with victory rewarding you with Ancient Bone Dust. This is a new material that gives you extra reputation with the Merchant Alliance, while new Skeleton Shops will also be opening their doors.

Budding pirates will also be able to smash up more Cursed Mermaid statues, while the Kraken now appears more frequently and has some new attacks up its sleeves.

Shrouded Spoils offers more customisation options too, including ship cannons, wheels, and capstans to give your vessel a more personal touch.

Sea of Thieves was released on PC and Xbox One back in March.
