A PEGI rating has popped up for something called RAGE: The Scorchers, suggesting id’s FPS may be getting a DLC pack.
The listing was spotted by Siliconera yesterday. The Scorchers were a bandit clan who were cut from the final game, though they appeared in pre-release screenshots.
If it is an expansion, it’s certainly taken its sweet time getting here: RAGE was released last October after all.
It was a good game, though. Despite a rubbish ending and some pseudo-RPG elements that didn’t really work, the core FPS action was excellent. That’s what I thought anyway, scoring the game an 8.
However, the game didn’t sell well, and the general consensus is that Bethesda were pretty disappointed in its performance.
It was rumoured for a while that RAGE’s failure led to the cancellation of Doom 4, and earlier this year a number of id staff were laid off.
