Quirky sci-fi horror title Caffeine is being ported over from Unreal Engine 3 to 4, and as part of this process developer Incandescent Imaging has released a new pre-release demo.

“At the moment this demo serves as a graphical showcase using the power of Unreal Engine 4, over the coming weeks the demo will be updated to include a larger play area, more story elements and sounds,” explained Incandescent Imaging’s Dylan Browne.

The demo features the same area as that found in the UE3 demo, but it has been re-designed from the ground up in UE4.

Those hoping for scares will need to wait for a future update as the demo in its current form is more of a graphical showcase.

“Eventually this will become the actual game demo based on feedback from all of you!” says Browne.

Caffeine is set aboard a caffeine mining space station and sees players awaken as a young boy seemingly alone.
