SEGA has announced that its immensely fun Dreamcast classic Samba De Amigo is to make a return, with a new game for the Wii.

In development exclusively for the Wii, Samba De Amigo lets players shake their Wii Remote and Nunchuck to the beats of a samba-infused soundtrack, full of popular new songs and fan-favourites from the original title.

Players take on the role of the grinning monkey, Amigo, and use the Wii Remote and Nunchuck like maracas, shaking them in time with the visual beats of the music on screen. The original game came with two maracas for an authentic feel and it would certainly be a bonus if SEGA could release the game with a pair of maracas shells for the Remote and Nunchuck to slot into.

The game is currently in development at Gearbox Software, with its release set for Spring 2008. Expect plenty more info over the coming months.
