THQ has confirmed that its open-world action game, Saints Row 2, will now be released in October and not the previously scheduled August date. According to Reuters the game will now ship in North America on October 14, making October 17 most likely for Europe – THQ was unable to confirm a European release date at this time.
Reuters notes that the decision to delay the game’s release was made in order to ensure product quality and for marketing considerations. What’s sure is that the game will now be releasing in the heart of the lucrative holiday period, which could help the game secure additional sales over its previously scheduled August release.
