Last year’s Sacred was one of the better Diablo-style hack-and-slash RPGs on the market, providing a large game world, plenty of spells and treasure to gather, and of course enemies to kill. So, given both the critical and retail success it garnered, it seemed natural that an expansion pack would follow. And so it has.

Sacred Underworld will allow players to start their journey anew with one of the two new characters (a Daemon or a Dwarf) in the new, bigger game world, or continue on with their saved character from the original title.

Primarily taking place in the shadowy Underworld (hence the title), players will encounter new enemies, pick up new weapons and armour, and cast new spells during the course of their adventure. The new characters also bring new skills to the table. The Dwarf, for example, in addition to being a hardened brawler, can also use the musket or cannon he carries with him, whereas the Daemon (a powerful sorceress) can shape-shift into a variety of creatures.

The expansion will come in two flavours; either on its’ own, priced at £19.99, or bundled with the original game in a gold edition for £29.99 and will be on sale from April 15th.
