Sackboy, Princess Zelda, Marcus Fenix, Mario, Solid Snake and Obi-Wan Kenobi have come together to form a modern take on the Christmas nativity scene, first created by Saint Francis of Assisi in Greccio, Italy in 1223.
The new nativity has been created by gamestation with the help of its customers. Over 30,000 customers were polled at stores, asked who they would like to see “play” the nativity figures this year.
The results:
Baby Jesus: Sackboy
Virgin Mary: Princess Zelda
Joseph: Marcus Fenix
Thee wise men: Mario, Solid Snake and Obi-Wan Kenobi
The nativity scene also needs some donkeys, played here by Sonic the Hedgehog and Yoshi.
Neil Ashurst, head of UK PR at gamestation commented: “For gamers, Christmas is a time of great excitement and anticipation as they rush to the tree to find out what games they will be playing while everyone else watches re-runs of boring old films and shows on the TV. The gamestation nativity scene celebrates Christmas in a way that is relevant to the gaming generation.”
