GDC Game World, GSC World Publishing and Koch Media have today announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky is to be released worldwide on August 29, 2008 and will be published by Deep Silver and GSC World Publishing.

“The topic of the release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky has created a lot of interest among gamers, press and fans,” said Craig McNicol, Managing Director of Koch Media. “We’re pleased to announce an exact date for this highly anticipated game now.”

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is set one year prior to events of the first game, with a group of stalkers having reached the heart of the Zone-Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. A new version of the X-Ray 1.5 game engine also promises players improved visuals and non-scripted AI combat.
