RuneScape membership prices will be increased from a monthly fee of £3.50 to £4.95 starting February 1, according to the game’s vice president Daniel Clough.

However all users who register prior to February 1 will still subscribe to the game on the original price model.

Alongside the rise in pricing, RuneScape developer Jagex promise that 2012 will feature new content and improvements to the browser-based MMO – which may explain the subscription increase.

This news follows the MMO’s recent courtroom success against bot developers mark and Eric Snellman, preventing them from developing future software that might affect RuneScape.
