At a pre-TGS event staged by Electronic Arts, attendees have been given a first hands-on with the new and much rumoured vibration equipped PlayStation 3 controller.
IGN reports that, too their surprise, hands-on time with Burnout Paradise on PS3 gave them an unexpected thrill in their hands – rumble has returned.
It’s believed that Burnout Paradise is the first rumble-equipped PS3 title, making use of new rumble technology inside an updated version of the Sixaxis. The new controller looks the same as the current Sixaxis only now because of the new rumble technology is heavier in the hand.
The force of the rumble is reported to be on par with that in the DualShock 2 and further information is expected to follow at Kaz Hirai’s keynote address tomorrow.
