Ruiner is a “top-down action shooter created in the spirit of cult cyberpunk anime and game classics,” and follows Puppy, an assassin and hacker who will take out the Boss who resides in HEAVEN. In 2091, the fictional city of Rengkok is ruled with an iron fist, and the player moves through its industrial wastelands and neon nightscapes with “preternatural reflexes, augmented tools, and the arsenal of fallen foes.” Porting the game to the Switch is an inspired idea, as the story suits a pick-up-and-play style, and players are able to enjoy the awesome soundtrack of Ruiner wherever they are.
Along with this, the developer offered an update on the progress of its next game. Expectedly, it will be set in a “dark future” with “cyberpunkish” elements, and there is a reveal in store, but Reikon Games was reticent to say when that would be.
Dark future, also cyberpunkish. More info soon.
