Before the RTX 4060 launch, you can save $30 on the RTX 3050. Ahead of the release of the new card, we’re seeing older Nvidia GPUs having their price slashed left right and centre.

The RTX 4060’s release date is near, but gamers are feeling unenthusiastic about the card after the RTX 4060 Ti was perceived to have flopped. This hasn’t stopped manufacturers from cutting the prices on other cards in the Nvidia roster, perhaps in response to the new low-cost cards arrival.
This low price is the main selling point of the RTX 4060, so it’s nice to see other, potentially more popular cards lowering theirs to match or beat it. This Zotac gaming RTX 3050 Twin Edge OC card has its price cut from $299, down to $269, bringing it below the MSRP of the RTX 4060. This is a pretty significant chunk taken off an already affordable card. For that price, you’re getting 8GB of VRAM, efficient cooling and a great 1080p performance.
Is the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 worth it?
The RTX 3050 is a great budget friendly card and definitely one of the best GPUs under $500. That said it is really designed for 1080p gaming. At this resolution, it can create good frame rates across the board, thanks to its GDDR6 memory and advanced Amphere architecture.
It won’t fair so well at 1440p but is capable of frame rates around 60 in most games when you lower some of the other graphic settings. That said if you are looking for the best GPU for 1440p and your budget permits it, it would be better to look elsewhere.

The main strength of this card is its low price and that is all the more true with this deal. Ampere cards for less than $300 are few and far between and, crucially, it undercuts the new RTX 4060 by $30. This might not sound like loads but is actually a full 10% off the price. This might just be enough to tempt some of those looking for a new affordable card.
