Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will not be a yearly title, EA has confirmed, with the game set to receive additional content updates free of charge following its release later this month.

The news was confirmed in a post on the Operation Sports forums by designer Justin Patel, where he said that “this is not a yearly title and we are very excited about what what we are going to be able to provide users of this game”.

Patel also notes the game will be getting free post-launch content updates following the revelation that the game will only ship with 8 real-life courses and 12 golfers:

What this content is, however, remains to be seen.

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour launches on Xbox One and PS4 on July 17. EA Access subscribers on Xbox One can also get a 10-hour trial from next Thursday, July 9.
