Coming from the kings of controversy, the announcement that Rockstar’s first next-gen title was to be a Table Tennis simulation came as a surprise to most.
Despite initial sniggering, the game earned excellent review scores and thanks to a budget price gained a strong following amongst gamers.
Rockstar has now revealed that the game is coming to Wii, with development in the hands of Rockstar Leeds in collaboration with Rockstar San Diego.
“Ever since we released Table Tennis, fans have been asking us to create a Wii version,” Rockstar’s Sam Houser said. “By bringing Table Tennis to the Wii and utilising the motion-sensitive Wii Remote, a new audience can now experience a game that is beautifully designed and impossible to put down.“
It’s highly unlikely the Wii game will sport the same jaw-dropping visuals, but some tight motion controls coupled with online play (we hope) should make for a great addition to the Wii library this autumn.
