We’ve heard almost nothing about Agent since it was first revealed as a Rockstar-developed PS3 exclusive, back at Sony’s E3 conference in 2009. But yesterday Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed the project’s active status, describing the game as “still in development”.

Zelnick mentioned Agent – along with the long-awaited Max Payne 3 – in an investor call shortly after Take-Two published its end-of-year financial report. Both titles were notably absent from the document.

Very little is known about Agent, other than the fact that it’s an espionage title set in the 1970s.

Take-Two made a net profit of $48.5 million in the 12-month period that just ended, a significant improvement on the $123 million loss the company reported the previous year.

It’s been almost exactly two years since Agent was revealed. Perhaps now would be a good time for the game to pop up at Sony’s E3 conference?
