Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games has revealed in a series of new job ads that it's staffing up for next-generation projects (via GearNuke), though it's anyone's guess as to what they are at this point.

First up, Rockstar India is on the lookout for fresh talent to fill technical artist roles, including one for a senior environment artist. This will see the successful candidate joining a team creating 'next-generation worlds for some exciting upcoming projects.' Ohhh, interesting!

Meanwhile, the New York branch of the company is looking to take on a MoCap tools developer to expand 'upon the next generation of MoCap tools and pipeline,' while the position of a technical face developer is also open to 'help research and develop new technology for future titles.'

Finally, Rockstar's Toronto outfit is also gearing up for projects that will utilise next-gen technology, though again, there's nothing specific mentioned.

Rockstar is obviously known for taking its time when it comes to developing new games. Red Dead Redemption 2 didn't arrive until eight years after its predecessor, and it's already been five years since the last Grand Theft Auto.

There have been murmurs of a new Bully game in the works, although whether that will come to anything remains to be seen.
