Rock Band for iOS won’t be shut down despite a message to the contrary appearing in the app earlier this week, EA has confirmed.
The message read: “On May 31, ROCK BAND will no longer be playable on your device. Thanks for rocking out with us!”
In addition, EA said in a FAQ on its website that is was “suspending support of ROCK BAND after May 31 and focusing resources on other EA titles.”
However, EA has since said the in-app message was delivered to players by mistake.
“Rock Band for iOS will remain live – the in-app message users received yesterday was sent in error,” EA told CNET. “We apologise for the confusion this caused. We’re working to clarify the issue that caused the error and will share additional information as soon as possible.”
It sounds like players will be able to continue playing, but EA won’t be supporting the game going forward.
