Dan Geisler, the original designer of Road Rash, may take to Kickstarter in order to bring the much-loved motorbike combat series back.

Responding to a question on Reddit asking why the game hasn’t resurfaced, Geisler said: “It hasn’t resurfaced because I was burned out after Road Rash 3. But I’m ready to do another one now. I just needed 20 years off. I’m ready to make a better one now. I miss playing it too.”

He added: “If there is enough interest, I’ll do a kickstart on it.”

Geisler worked on Road Rash 1, 2 and 3, but given EA holds the license any Kickstarter would likely be based on a new game which shares the essence of Road Rash. The series has lied dormant since 1999’s Road Rash 64.

All this Road Rash interest appears to have sparked life in the Road Rash concept video from 2007 – its creator Kevin Connolly has only hours ago posted an update to say he’s thinking of taking the idea to Kickstarter.

“I’m tempted to go for my own version of this on kick starter. help me to decide wether to by voting or agree messages. Cheers Kev”
