Rise of the Tomb Raider joins the growing list of Xbox One X enhanced titles

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics has announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will receive a visual enhancement update for the Xbox One X. The enhancements to the game were shown off in a swanky new trailer, which was peppered with a number of statements that detailed how much more of an ultimate experience this will be on the Xbox One X. Superior Reflections get me going, oh yeah.

Nixxes Software are the folks who’ve been worked on the PC (and Xbox 360) ports of the recent Tomb Raider games, and it’s wafted its magic wand over the Xbox One X version. Updating the game to run natively at 4K, adding HDR10 and Dolby Atmos and it’s also implemented a number of technical and visual enhancements that’ll take advantage of the consoles additional power capabilities.

Like the PS4 Pro enhanced version, the Xbox One X version will offer three visual modes, so players can choose a setting that works best for them.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is out now on Xbox One and PS4. The Xbox One X update will be available to download following the consoles launch on November 7. This will be a free update for those who already own the game on the Xbox One family of consoles.
