Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming to both Xbox One and Xbox 360, Microsoft has announced, confirming earlier rumours that the game is to be a cross-generational title.
Speaking to Eurogamer about the controversy surrounding Microsoft’s exclusivity deal, Xbox boss Phil Spencer revealed: “I have Tomb Raider shipping next holiday exclusively on Xbox. It is Xbox 360 and Xbox One.”
The game has been rumoured to be cross-generational since its reveal in June, with Microsoft listing platforms as both Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Xbox.com, and Amazon listing the game for release on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC.
Square has yet to formally announce platforms for the title, although Microsoft’s Xbox exclusivity deal has now been confirmed to have “a duration”, suggesting it could come to PS3, PS4 and PC following its launch on Xbox One and Xbox 360 next Christmas.
