The Department of Fair Employment & Housing for California has issued a press release (via Kotaku) saying that it's looking to legally force Riot Games to provide information on employee data as part of an ongoing investigation into the League of Legends developer.

In November, 2018, news broke that two people were suing Riot Games for gender-based discrimination. A mass walkout at the studio happened last month after Riot looked to prevent the two lawsuits, but Riot ultimately remained strong on its policy of forced abitration.

The DFEH has said that its investigating 'alleged unequal pay, sexual harassment, sexual assault, retaliation, and gender discrimination in selection and promotion' at Riot Games. The Department of Fair Employment & Housing for California said its looking for the courts to get an allegedly non-compliant Riot to provide 'adequate information for DFEH to analyze whether women are paid less than men at the company.'

Riot issued a statement after the DFEH press release, saying that the developer has been 'cooperating in good faith with the DFEH to address its concerns… We’ve also made several recent requests that the DFEH participate in a call with us to address their requests. To date, these requests have been unanswered, so we’re frankly disappointed to see the DFEH issue a press release alleging that we’ve been non-cooperative.'
