The upcoming update for Rift, patch 1.7, has been detailed by the team on the official website.
Called Carnival of the Ascended, the update is said to bring improvements to high-level Ascended.
PvP will now feature smoother advancement as well as greater rewards, and improved loot overall for the Ascended endgame.
Expert level dungeons will now include more options for users, as well as better loot, while new Master mode dungeons will be implemented into the game.
River of Souls Chronicle will see an Undead adventure for two players, along with Ascended weddings which will be featured in the game so users can marry.
Finally a free weekend will be available to players on January 19 through to January 22.
Developer Trion Worlds recently announced a lowered subscription plan, with an annual cost dropped down to £4.92 per month. Additionally, for a limited time users will get an extra month of RIFT game time when they upgrade to a multi-month subscription plan.
