The latest live event for MMO Rift, called The Ashes of History, begins October 12.
The event is said to focus on a battle between players and the slaves of Laethys and Maelforge, as well as an increase in fire and earth rifts across the world.
Additionally, there will be new daily quests and new rifts which will reward users with Magma Opals which function as currency throughout the event, and can be used to obtain mounts and rare and epic weapons.
Also coming this week is a 24-hour gaming marathon that has been set up by Rift’s developer Trion Worlds as part of a charity drive to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. The Rift marathon will begin October 15 and those who partake will be able to earn in-game titles such as The Charitable and The Insomniac.
