Alongside the recent news that in-game marriages would be featured in MMO Rift, Trion Worlds has announced they will be kicking off Valentine’s Day with an event aiming to help the game break the record for most in-game marriages.

According to the official Trion website, the event will take place on February 14 at 9 AM PST, and run until February 15 at 9 AM PST.

During this period users will be logged by the Guinness Book of World Records, and be added to the tally as long as they stay married during these 24 hours.

Player characters will be able to marry any gender, class, or race, as long as it is within their faction.

Finally, to celebrate those who have successfully married, Trion is offering users a new Tier of Knots achievement.

Last week Rift launched on EA’s Origin platform, making it possible for users to purchase and access the game directly using the digital distribution service.
