Upcoming changes for RIFT have been detailed in the most recent State of the Game report from Trion Worlds head Scott Hartsman.

Throughout the next year, Hartsman states the team will be focusing on improving the current Soul System, expanding RIFT’s endgame, as well as pushing PvP forward in the game.

He also suggests there will be new ways for players to interact with the MMO:

“When we say interact, we mean both interacting with the game in non-combat ways, and interacting from out of game entirely.”

This implies we should be seeing more in the vein of RIFT Mobile, which allows users to chat in-game from their phone.

It has also been hinted by the studio that a Mac port is in the works, however no announcement has been made regarding any release.
