The Famitsu PS2 article, translated by IGN, confirms news that Ridge Racer 7 will offer the option to install part of the game to the PS3 hard drive. Up to 5GB of game data will be held on the hard drive to enable faster load times.

Teramoto also confirmed that there will be no distinct separation between offline and online game modes, with all the money and ranks won in the game applying to the game as a whole. RR7 matches the 14-player online races found in the Xbox 360’s RR6.

Not one to blow his own trumpet, Teramoto also expressed his pleasure to offer RR7 in 1080p, at 60fps and in 5.1, something he claims is only possible on the PS3.

A playable Ridge Racer 7 demo is promised at the Japanese launch of the PS3, where the game will also be available from day one on November 11. The game will also feature at the North American launch on November 17.
