Following on from its declaration of faith in the Nintendo Switch, Capcom has announced that both Resident Evil: Revelations and Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be coming to the Switch later this year. Perhaps this is the ‘starting to prepare’ more Switch games it’s alluded to following its recent earnings call.
Resident Evil: Revelations is a 1080p port of the pretty decent 2012 3DS game, marking a return to the series’ exploration roots, rather than the balls-out action of Resident Evil 5 and 6. Taking place between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5, Revelations’ story unfolds on a ship, which bears more than a passing resemblance to the original Resi’s mansion. It was a pretty enjoyable experience, as long as you don’t mention those over-board shooting sequences.
When they’re released later this year, Switch owners will get Resident Evil: Revelations and its sequel all in one package. By package I mean Resident Evil: Revelations  will be on cart and Revelations 2 will be a download code. But still, two pretty decent games together. Hopefully this’ll be the first of many decent Capcom games making the shift to Nintendo Switch in the near future.
Capcom will also be bringing the original Resident Evil: Revelations to PS4 and Xbox One on August 29.
