Alan Wake, finally coming to PC early in 2012 via Steam, will be self published by developer Remedy, the studio has confirmed.
“As for Alan Wake PC, it’s a Remedy self published title which is coming to Steam, also being released early in 2012,” wrote Remedy community manager Peter Papadopoulos on the Alan Wake forums.
Papadopoulos also confirmed that Microsoft is publishing American Nightmare on Xbox LIVE Arcade in early 2012.
Responding to fan criticism over the status of Alan Wake on PC – remember the game was first announced as a PC title, before transitioning to Xbox 360 – Remedy writer Mikko Rautalahti wrote: “I can genuinely appreciate that people were frustrated – and it was frustrating for us as well, because it was out of our hands at the time. These things can get pretty complicated.”
Alan Wake for PC will come as standard with both DLC packs: The Signal and The Writer.
Alan Wake has proved to be somewhat of a Marmite game – lucky for Remedy we happened to like it.
