L.A. Noire has been winning much praise for its incredibly lifelike facial animations, but Remedy Entertainment, creator of Alan Wake, believes it can do even better.
“L.A. Noire has set a bar for facial animation,” Remedy CEO Matthias Myllyrinne told Edge before thrusting one hand forward then placing his other significantly higher and adding, “but [Rockstar’s game] is here, we’re aiming to be here.”
Remedy’s technology will model blood flow beneath the skin, enabling characters to realistically flush when they become aggravated.
The game in which the new technology will be utilised is yet to be announced, but the tech demo shown to Edge did feature Ikka Villi, the actor who played the titular role in Alan Wake.
Job vacancies have also suggested the Finish studio is working on Alan Wake 2.
