Ghost Recon: Future Soldier developer Red Storm Entertainment is contributing to the development of online shooter The Division, Ubisoft has revealed.

Red Storm’s “primary focus” will be creating the artwork for The Division’s weapons, and has an entire team focussed on weapon design.

“One of my best gaming memories is playing the very first Ghost Recon,” says Massive Entertainment’s managing director David Polfeldt. “Since then I have always been a fan of Red Storm, and it is a great pleasure to end up working with them on The Division. We have a lot in common in terms of heritage and studio culture that makes it very easy for us to collaborate, despite the distances and different time zones. I hope that what we see today is only the beginning of a long and exciting journey together.”

Red Storm is the second team confirmed to be collaborating with Massive on The Division, joining Driver: San Francisco creators Ubisoft Reflections.

To mark the announcement, Ubisoft also released a pair of new screenshots. Head through to our screenshot gallery to check them out.

The Division is scheduled to launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.
