Game Informer Online has posted an early look at the May edition of Game Informer magazine, revealing the cover image of a pistol and a Katana sword, with the Nintendo Revolution’s distinctive controller being reflected in the sword’s blade. The images represent Red Steel, a new title for the Nintendo Revolution from Ubisoft.

The sneak peek at the magazine doesn’t give any further details away about the game, but photos of the contents of the magazine have surfaced, revealing some tantalising info. For starters, the game looks to take full advantage of the unique Revolution interface, with the action in the game corresponding to the gamer’s movement of the controller. Apparently the in-game gun will not only move around as you point, but even rotate as you do so with the controller.

The photos of the Red Steel preview from inside the magazine also show some rather impressive visuals, providing ample ammunition for shooting down speculation that the Revolution is little more powerful than an Xbox. The game is also said to have support for both split-screen and online multiplayer modes.

Expect to hear more about the game at E3 in one short month.
