Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode will be receiving a meaty new update next week, among which includes a bunch of timed-exclusive content for the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

First on the cards is Open Target Races, which arrives on Sony's console before Xbox One and sees players attempting to cap as many enemies as possible while riding on horseback.

Those of you who play on PS4 can also get your hands on a bunch of items, including the Jawbone Knife, described as 'a unique melee weapon with a handle artfully carved from the remains of a slain animal's jaw.' In addition, new clothing and emotes will come to Sony's console first.

Outside of the limited-time content, the patch will also add the Fool's Gold Free Roam event, which has budding cowboys competing for a gold-plated suite of armour. Three new Showdown modes are also making their way to Red Dead Online, namely Up In Smoke, Spoils of War, and Plunder.

Rockstar has confirmed that the new Red Dead Online update will be released on February 26.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One back in October, and Colm thought it was absolutely spiffing.
