Red Dead Redemption 2's online component, Red Dead Online, may have been around since not long after launch of the game, but officially it's been in beta. Not for much longer.

Speaking during Take Two's latest earnings' call as transcribed by Seeking Alpha (and spotted by Eurogamer) CEO Strauss Zenick fielded questions on the game, saying specifically that 'Rockstar has said that Red Dead Online will be coming out of beta in the current quarter.' – for the record, the current quarter ends at the end of June, so that's not far away at all.

That doesn't mean the constant flow of updates is set to slow down, of course. Just like Grand Theft Auto Online still has new additions added to this day, the same will be said for Red Dead Online, with Zelnick also revealing that 'Red Dead Online is performing better than Grand Theft Auto Online did at the same stage of the game.'

Red Dead Online recently added the Up in Smoke playlist, expanding Showdown mode with the new gametype. You can read our review of Red Dead Redemption 2 right this way.
