Dark pirate adventure Raven’s Cry will release digitally on PC, Mac, SteamOS and Linux on January 26, 2015, and at retail on PC, Mac, PS3 and PS4 on January 28, 2015, TopWare Interactive has announced.
The game had previously been due to release on PC in November.
“We had hoped our dark pirate epic would be ready in time for the Holidays, so those of you who buy it could put it under the Christmas tree,” said TopWare. “But we’re not willing to rush things make any compromises with this project, so we decided to give this complex RPG adventure a little bit more time to make sure all the blades are nice and sharp, so to speak. After all, we owe it to our fans, who have been waiting a long time for a such an exciting pirate experience.”
While dates have been confirmed for the PC, PS3 and PS4 versions, however, TopWare has yet to say when it will release on Xbox 360. Has it been cancelled? The game’s website suggests not, but TopWare has yet to provide an update on its whereabouts.
Developed by Two Worlds 2 studio Reality Pump, Raven’s Cry promises to be a “unique gaming experience you don’t want to miss”.
“Players can immerse themselves in a living, breathing environment just begging to be explored, complete with realistic period architecture and geography,” says TopWare. “Slash, sail, and shoot your way through a main storyline of 25 hours, along with several side quests, and discover new islands, hidden treasures, and action-packed adventures.”
New gameplay footage of the game is promised to be shown “very soon”.
